We have setup a number of exciting cycling routes for your enjoyment. You can cycle the tracks using Endomondo on a smart phone, The cost for hiring a private boat, hiring of bikes if need (15 USD per Bike) and the fee for a guide (James 65.000 Ush per tour). A total of 7 persons and their bikes can fit in the boat. We advise you to start early morning. Below you can see a few examples but we have more tracks available. We can also setup tailor made guided tours, starting with breakfast on arrival, dinner and drinks when you return. The cost of a tailor made tour will depend on the requirements. Cycling 28 km from Kisisi to Mawoto. Mzungu Cycling Jungle route, advised you take a guide and the boat cost 75.000 Ush. This is a full day experience. Cycling 40 km from Mawoto to Sango Bulebi. Boat cost 120.000 Ush and also a full days event.
Cooking classes
Learn the art of Traditional Uganda Cooking. After meeting our Chef and your fellow students you will go by boat from Yellow Haven Lodge to Ggaba market for shopping for your ingredience. Arriving back you will be cooking 4 different items the Ugandan way and then enjoy the food you have cooked for lunch. Our cooking classes are scheduled for 9am every Saturday morning The classes will end around 2:30pm / 3pm.
Bird watching
the garden of Yellow Haven is full of all different birds. Different species of king fishers, Crested Cranes who have a nest in the Papyrus, Ross Turaco and many more. Also you can take a manual paddled boat to see the different species from the water.
Hiking & Boat
All hiking tracks are in Endomondo. The boat brings you to Mawoto where you start hiking/walking and will later pick you up at Kisisi where the hiking part ends. Cost for the boat is in total 75.000 Ush. The boat can fit in total 8 people. Be aware there are no life jackets on the boat this need to be arrange separately and will be an additional cost. The 13.3 km track.
Hands-on experience
Enjoy a hands-on experience of the small-group in our Uganda cooking class. Learn how to prepare and cook traditional Uganda food with our charming local Uganda instructor. Cost 55 USD per person.
Boat to Ggaba market
By local sanddigger boat to Ggaba market. Cost 30.000 Ush per boat going and coming back. The boat is paddle by spade, we advise not more the 3 people per boat.
City tour
City tour, done by a local Ugandan neightbour via local transport. The fee for the guide is 65.000 Ush. Also you need to pay in addition her and your transport, drinks and lunch.
Canoe trip
We will gladly arrange your sunset canoe trip along the coast - set out at twilight and enjoy the glittering lights and the glow of the moon as you return for cocktails and dinner at The Snug!
Tailormade events
Setting up tailormade events. Since we have a lot of facilities at Yellow Haven and access to water, we are able in setting up all kind of events. A few examples:
Embassy, NGO or Company meetings followed with a sport event like hiking or cycling.
